Internship at Scoop Marketplace
Here comes a bulk store based in Kirkland, WA. This is where my love for low-waste lifestyle was nurtured. I had a one-year internship at Scoop as a web editor and salesperson back when Scoop still located in Seattle. I got to meet a lot of people who shared the same values, both co-workers and customers.
At its core, Scoop Marketplace helps people live low-waste life a bit easier by selling package-free bulk dry food, home essentials, and self-care products. If not package-free, products’ packaging will either be compostable reusable. Scoop started small with a team of a few people. I was one of the founding members who’s most responsible for editing, updating, and improving the website.
Back then, the business had limited budget. We couldn’t invest in streamlined software, so we worked with what we had. Wix is the website builder we used. It’s simple to get started but not so reliable and very hard to automate or scale…at least for the template that we used. However, I tried my best to communicate the business needs to the customers and potentials by keeping the styles and layout simple and consistent.
